Hope for a Thriving Future
This holiday season, we invite you to share hope with individuals in our community who need it most.
No contribution is too small, and every act of generosity has the power to make a difference. Together, we can transform lives and create a thriving future for vulnerable individuals who need mental health and substance use treatment and care.
Program Spotlight: STEP
STEP, Caminar's Supportive Transitional Empowerment Program, brings services and support to individuals experiencing substance use issues in justice-involved settings. They collaborate with each client’s families and social systems to prepare the client for reentry into the community. Substance use treatment is available upon release. This seamless coordination of care empowers clients, builds resiliency, and promotes well-being.
The STEP team takes great pride in its active involvement in the community. In October, they participated in the Got Kids? 5th Annual Trunk or Treats event at Mt. Pleasant High School. Enjoy the photos of the STEP team in action!
Wells Fargo Grant
Caminar is proud to announce that Resource Connect Solano (RCS), Solano County's streamlined gateway to the houselessness response system, has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation. This funding will bolster critical houselessness prevention and intervention efforts across the county, helping to stabilize individuals and families.
Since 2017, Caminar has operated Resource Connect Solano, providing essential services that assess, prioritize, and refer individuals and families in need to supportive housing programs.
Wells Fargo's $100,000 grant will enable RCS to offer flexible financial support to individuals and families on the edge of houselessness. This funding will provide rental assistance, help pay overdue utility bills, cover high air conditioning costs, and even fund necessary home modifications. These efforts aim to prevent people from becoming houseless, keeping families together, children in schools, and people in stable housing environments.
"Ensuring that the members of this community who are most susceptible to displacement have resources to remain housed is important. That's why Wells Fargo is proud to grant $100,000 to Caminar's Resource Connect Solano to expand houselessness prevention efforts in Solano County," said Christopher Adame, vice president of community relations at Wells Fargo.

The Vallejo Times-Herald reported that "The Wells Fargo Foundation recently awarded a $100,000 grant to Resource Connect Solano to assist residents teetering on the edge of homelessness, and those already experiencing it." Caminar's CEO, Mark Cloutier, is quoted in the piece, stating: “Keeping people housed is such a critical component of community life and to keep communities making progress in terms of income, educational attainment, and neighborhood continuity.”
The Vallejo Times-Herald also wrote a follow-up story about the Wells Fargo Foundation grant for homeless prevention to highlight the grant recipient, Caminar's Resource Connect Solano. In the article, DeAndre Richard, Program Director of Resource Connect Solano, explained exactly how the funding will help: “With these funds…we’re able to help with first month’s rent and or the security deposit."
