 INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT

San Jose Sharks Promote Inclusion with Caminar’s LGBTQ Youth Space Program

Caminar is a proud partner of the San Jose Sharks and Sharks Foundation! Our LGBTQ Youth Space program was the beneficiary of last month’s Hockey is for Everyone Auction presented by Kaiser Permanente. The program uses the game of hockey to drive positive social change and foster more inclusive communities.

The event raised nearly $10,000 to support our LGBTQ programs serving more than 400 youth in the San Jose area. Hockey is for Everyone benefits our Youth Space beyond securing funds for the program by:

  • Raising awareness of the important role played by Caminar’s Family & Children Services division and the LGBTQ Youth Space
  • Growing individual donations to the Youth Space: March 2021 giving increased by 10x
  • Generating awareness of inclusivity and our LGBTQ community

We are grateful to the San Jose Sharks and Sharks Foundation for partnering with us to make our community more inclusive – thank you!

Ongoing support through financial contributions or in-kind donations of new items such as clothing or gift cards for the LGBTQ Youth Space is welcome! Please send questions to  development@caminar.org, or call our development office at (650) 513-1509.

 CARF ACCREDITATION RE-ISSUED

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) re-issued accreditation to Caminar through March 2024. This accreditation  demonstrates our adherence to international standards of quality and commitment to the pursuit of excellence in care.

As part of the extensive review process, surveyors noted organizational strengths, including:

"Exceptionally enthusiastic in the pursuit of excellence and committed to ensuring the wellness of all, the CEO is a great asset to the organization."

"Clients expressed extraordinary gratitude for the services they receive from Caminar. They consistently described specific ways in which the organization’s staff members are supportive of them and have gone above and beyond typical expectations in their delivery of services."
